Bar and Restaurant Team Leader

Job Title: Bar and Restaurant Team Leader
Main Purpose of Job:Oversee shift to ensure provision of first-class customer service whilst maximising Bar and Restaurant sales.
Responsible to: Bar & Restaurant Manager
Responsible for: Bar and Restaurant team members in respect of task allocation and adherence to required work standards.     

Main Tasks of Job:

  1. Oversee shift, allocating tasks to team members to ensure smooth delivery of first-class level of customer service in line with expected standard.
  2. Manage cellar and bar stock, placing orders with approved suppliers only.
  3. Ensure all team members strictly adhere to till operation, payment processing and cashing up procedures.
  4. Personal presentation – uniform to be worn, name badge, hair tied back, clean and tidy appearance.
  5. Provide first class customer service – positive, upbeat and welcoming attitude. Put the customer first and ensure they experience the very best service.
  6. Engage with customers to gain an understanding of who they are and what they would like.  Build a relationship with them to give the best chance of fulfilling their expectations and giving them the motivation to want to return.
  7. High motivation and use of initiative to ensure every opportunity to improve customer satisfaction is achieved.
  8. Presentation and cleanliness of restaurant and bar area to be continuously immaculate and in line with brand guidelines.
  9. Know the menu – understand what each dish is on the menu to be able to offer recommendations and a high-quality experience. This will also help with dietary requirements.
  10. Plan the shifts – be organised and know who is doing what during service.
  11. Stock control – ensure the bar is kept fully stocked to ensure maximum sales and professional presentation.
  12. Consistency of how drinks are served – use correct glasses, condiments and garnishes.
  13. Create an atmosphere – approved music playlists to be used, with major sporting events on TVs.
  14. Recording of bookings and customer contact details to be correct and stored on electronic file.
  15. Paperwork is maintained eg. wastage sheets.

Job Title: Bar and Restaurant Assistant
Main Purpose of Job:Provide first class customer service whilst maximising Bar and Restaurant sales.
Responsible to: Bar & Restaurant Manager

Main Tasks of Job:

  1. Provide first class customer service – positive, upbeat and welcoming attitude. Put the customer first and ensure they experience the very best service.
  2. Engage with customers to gain an understanding of who they are and what they would like.  Build a relationship with them to give the best chance of fulfilling their expectations and giving them the motivation to want to return.
